Gazeta Wyborcza Foundation Delivers Equipment to Ukrainian Journalists

Thanks to over PLN 250.000 worth of equipment provided by the Ukrainian Media Fund, 36 local editorial offices no longer have to fear blackouts. Modern computer-controlled battery packs allow up to a dozen devices to work undisturbed for many hours.

They help power servers hosting the local portal, stabilize internet connectivity, and even heat the room. Even solar panels can be connected to the devices. Additionally, 200 reporters and photojournalists received portable powerbanks which can be used to charge phones, cameras, and even laptops on the go.

The abuse of power comes as no surprise. With the “News from Poland” service, Gazeta Wyborcza and Gazeta Wyborcza foundation are joining forces to help those with limited access to media coverage about Poland due to the language barrier. Our goal is to guarantee open access to high quality journalism for expats and English speakers interested in Polish affairs.
